Upcoming Events
*April Events* – In the latter half of March and the first half of April, we chose to emphasize mental and emotional health. In the last few weeks of the semester we will be hosting events related to these important topics with opportunities hosted by our amazing UA Partners.
- Emotional Intelligence Workshop | April 3rd from 3:30 – 4:30 pm | Russell Hall 323 : To effectively manage conflict as emotionally intelligent leaders, it’s crucial to learn techniques for mediating disputes, fostering collaboration, and finding mutually beneficial solutions to maintain positive working relationships. By reviewing the fundamental concepts of emotional intelligence, participants will engage in problem-solving exercises and role-playing activities with the goal of enhancing their conflict-resolution skills through a heightened awareness of emotional intelligence.
- The Introspective Leader | April 10th from 3:30 – 4:30 pm | Russell Hall 323 : This workshop is designed to identify and explore the leader within through effective introspection. The American Psychological Association defines introspection as the process in which a person attempts to explain the reasons for holding a particular attitude, reaching a specific decision, or engaging in a particular behavior. We will briefly discuss our leadership philosophies, tools to help us realize our leadership dreams, and obstacles to our leadership hopes. We look forward to exploring the multiple aspects of self that are imperative to our leadership development through introspection.
- Community Dinner | April 22nd from 6:00 – 7:30 pm | 2nd Floor Gorgas Library – Camellia Room : Join us for an evening dedicated to building community! This is the perfect opportunity to unwind, enjoy a great meal, and build meaningful connections with other first-gen students. This month is our final community dinner of the academic year, and we’re thrilled to create a space to honor first-gen students and all of their achievements while we reflect on the year. Please RSVP if you plan to attend!
