The Learning Commons Peer Tutors are trained to support students in a variety of courses. Sessions are designed to assist students with attaining a deeper understanding of course materials.
Our program offers drop-in “study hall”- style tutoring and limited 30-minute 1-on-1 tutoring sessions for students in all courses we support. 1:1 sessions must be scheduled at least 1 week prior to the session.
Tutors explain concepts in a way you can understand and help you learn on your own terms. Tutors won’t give you the answers to your work, but we’ll give you something better: the tools and confidence to authentically learn.
Students can come in for tutoring at any point during the semester to review for an exam, discuss concepts, or work through homework, assignments, and practice problems. Many students find it beneficial to attend a tutoring session at least weekly to get the most out of this service.

Tutoring operates Monday through Thursday at varied times between 5 and 8 PM (see below), with set days for either drop-in or 1:1 tutoring sessions. Our 1:1 appointments also support Distance Learners who are not on campus.
Math Test Week Schedule and Locations
All math courses have four major exams throughout the semester. The fall math test week schedule is as follows:
- Test #1: September 8 – September 11
- Test #2: September 29 – October 2
- Test #3: October 20 – 23
- Test #4: November 17 – 20
