Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a supportive learning approach aimed at enhancing academic success by merging “what to learn” with “how to learn.” Led by trained peer leaders, SI sessions foster peer-to-peer interaction through collaborative activities in small groups. These leaders have previously excelled in the course content and are current participants, allowing them to tailor activities to the classroom teachings. Students engaging in SI sessions typically achieve higher grades and exhibit lower withdrawal rates compared to non-participants. Moreover, data indicates increased graduation rates among regular SI attendees. Multiple sessions for each SI course are offered weekly.

Fall 2026 SI Session and Walk-In Schedule

Ideally, students will attend sessions offered by the SI Leader(s) in their class; however, students may attend any SI session or Walk-in hour, regardless of their instructor. You may attend as many SI sessions as you like. Please arrive on time and stay to the end of each session. Students who arrive later than 15 minutes after a session begins will be asked to wait for the next available session.
