About Us

The Capstone Center for Student Success provides a network of services to support holistic student success, including a combination of academic support services, specialized support programs, and intentional partnerships throughout UA. All services provided by the CCSS are free for currently-registered UA students. Programs and services provided to help assist undergraduate students include, but are not limited to:

  • Peer and Professional Academic Coaching
  • Individual and small group tutoring
  • Introductory, compass, and academic success courses
  • Reading, study skills, and academic success skill sessions and workshops
  • Computer labs and student study spaces
  • First year transition and leadership programming
  • Crimson Edge and Exploring for Success (PMST) programs
  • Referrals to other UA services and programs
  • Preparation for professional school and graduate school entrance examinations
  • Student Support Services/TRiO, Alabama REACH
  • First Generation Programs which includes scholarships and Legacy Scholars, our first-gen community on campus
