SAEA Scholarships

The Office of Student Academic Engagement and Advocacy at The University of Alabama offers academic support and select student success support scholarships to eligible upperclassmen who are nearing degree completion.

Eligibility

Priority of consideration shall be given to juniors or senior students who have completed at least one year of coursework at The University of Alabama and demonstrate financial need. Note that financial need is not necessarily defined by federal guidelines.

Renewal

Students who receive the award are eligible to receive it more than once but must reapply every year.

EBSCO Home Stretch Scholarship

The EBSCO Home Stretch Scholarship is intended to provide financial support to junior and senior students while continuing as a University of Alabama student or an undergraduate student in their final semester of coursework.

Students who apply for the EBSCO Home Stretch Scholarship must:

Be an Alabama resident.
Have a UA GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Demonstrate financial need.
Show proof of employment.
Meet regularly with the Retention Initiatives Program Manager.

Ryals Thompson Student Success Scholarship

The Lucille Ryals Thompson Endowed Student Success Scholarship helps support students with the expenses related to attending The University of Alabama. Scholarship awards may be used to assist students with academic expenses related to attending the University, including, but not limited to, tuition, books, and miscellaneous academic supplies.

Students who apply for the Ryals Thompson Student Success Scholarship must:

Be a junior or senior and have completed at least one year of coursework at The University of Alabama.
Demonstrate financial need.
Submit an essay explaining the need for this scholarship (required)
Be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours at The University of Alabama.
Meet regularly with the Retention Initiatives Program Manager.
