Pillars of Freshman Forum

Leadership
Freshman Forum is your starting point for leadership at The University of Alabama. Whether you're new to leadership or building on past experience, you'll develop a personal leadership identity and gain skills in dialogue, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making. Lead with confidence, purpose, and impact—on campus and beyond.
Scholarship
Freshman Forum expands learning beyond the classroom through leadership training that challenges you to think critically and embrace new perspectives. You'll build your foundation, refine your communication, and grow as a reflective, engaged scholar.


Service
Freshman Forum connects leadership with service, encouraging civic engagement and ethical action. You'll build relationships with peers, campus leaders, and the Tuscaloosa community—learning to lead by serving and creating positive change wherever you go.
Requirements for Members
Before applying, please review the requirements of Freshman Forum members:
- Attend all sessions on Wednesdays, 4 – 5:30 p.m., September through March.
- Create and present a Capstone Plan ePortfolio.
- Actively engage in group Civic Engagement Projects.
- Participate in Out 2 Lunch during the fall semester.
- Pay $40 program fee (waivers available).
