First Gen Foundations Peer Leaders
First Gen Foundations Peer Mentors are a group of supportive, experienced first-generation college students who help guide and encourage first-year, first-gen students as they transition into college life at UA.
Peer Mentors serve as friendly, reliable faces throughout the 8-week First Gen Foundations program. Their role may include co-leading small group discussions, participating in weekly Foundations sessions, attending monthly team check-ins, and engaging in outreach with their small group throughout the semester.
Leaders are expected to be present at each First Gen Foundations session, which takes place weekly on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 – 4:45 PM, beginning on January 22, 2026.
The mission of the First Gen Foundations Peer Mentor team is to support belonging, share insight, and build connections among first-generation students navigating their first year at UA.
Applications for First Gen Foundations Leaders are closed for Spring 2026.
