New View is a community of out-of-state, first-year students who have made UA their home away from home. New View is for any student who wants to build community, foster lasting friendships, learn about student success resources and engage in the campus community through student involvement opportunities.

As a part of New View, members commit to attending our weekly program sessions each Monday afternoon from 4:00-5:00 PM in the spring 2026 semester. As a member, you can expect to benefit from speakers and engage in community building activities throughout the spring as a whole group and in small groups. You will have the opportunity to connect with on-campus, student leaders as New View Mentors and leaders in the UA professional community. New View will introduce you to academic and success resources at The University of Alabama to prepare you for success.
Attendance Commitments
To participate in New View, please ensure you hold Mondays from 4:00-5:00 PM open in spring 2026. Locations for meetings will be shared via email to registered participants. If you have any questions about New View, please email us at fye@ua.edu.
New View Mentors
New View Mentors are a dynamic group of out-of-state rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors at UA who support the New View freshman participants in their transition from high school to college at UA.
The New View Mentors experience may include facilitating whole group meetings, regional small groups, whole group socials, and a mid-semester meeting with the New View Coordinator. This Mentor role will require Mentors to be at New View programming each Monday afternoon from 3:45-5:00 PM in the spring 2026 semester.
The goal of the New View Mentors is to interact with the out-of-state, freshman students in New View and provide opportunities for connection, community, and guidance.
New View Mentor applications are open now until Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Please complete the application form to apply. Interviews will be held December 1- 5, 2025.
