Ignite UA gives students the opportunity to discover their maximum potential to make the most of their time at UA. Ignite UA engages with freshman students to practice different skills and learn about resources that will help them succeed.
Ignite UA is a spring semester, skill-building program specifically designed for freshman students as they continue to transition to life at The University of Alabama. Ignite UA empowers students to maximize their time at UA through sparking potential towards success. No previous experience or involvement is required!

Spring 2025 Program Dates
Ignite UA met weekly in a whole group setting Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30 PM in Russell Hall 323 for a 6-week duration from January 29, 2025 through March 5, 2025.
Ignite UA Leaders
Ignite UA Leaders are upperclassman (sophomores, juniors & seniors) UA students who are interested in improving their leadership, facilitation, and community-building skills. Leaders will aid in activity facilitation during Ignite UA weekly whole-group meetings. Ignite UA Leaders serve as peer leaders and are looked to as the key individuals creating a positive role model relationship with the Ignite UA participants. InfoMandatory Leader Dates for Spring 2025
- Leader Meet & Greet: December 4, 2024 from 3 – 4 PM
- Leader Training: January 15, 2025 & January 22, 2025 from 2:30 – 4:30 PM
- Attend all 6 weeks of Ignite UA meetings on Wednesdays from 2:30 – 2:40 PM from January 29 – March 5, 2025
- One meeting with Ignite UA Coordinator in February that Leader schedules according to their business hour availability
- Final Leader Reflection: March 26, 2025 from 2:30 – 4:30 PM
Requirements/Expectations of all Ignite UA Leaders:
- Have an interest in helping freshman students in their transition, sharing UA campus resources, and willingness to facilitate activities.
- Minimum of a 2.0 UA GPA and good academic/conduct standing with UA.
- Must be a full-time, undergraduate student at The University of Alabama who has completed at least 2 semesters by fall 2024.
- Must commit to attending every Ignite UA meeting and leadership team meeting.
