Crimson Scholars is an invitation only program designed for first-year students to make the most of their first year of college and be successful at UA! In the program, students will connect with peers based on similar majors through small groups, build relationships with passionate mentors and meet our dedicated staff invested in student success.
Each Crimson Scholars small group meets weekly for the first eight weeks of each semester. Meeting topics include time management, resiliency, communication, leadership, and much more! Crimson Scholars are also encouraged to attend monthly events, weekly study halls with exclusive tutoring access and service events. The total time commitment for the program is approximately five hours per month.

Participant Experiences
We asked our 2024 rising seniors how Crimson Scholars has impacted their college experience so far and why an incoming student should join.
“Crimson Scholars has been a huge part of my college experience. I’ve learned so much and made life-long friends that I would have never met if it hadn’t been for Crimson Scholars. I truly don’t know what my college experience would look like if I hadn’t been a part of Crimson Scholars.”

“Crimson Scholars has been a great way to connect with different people outside of my major and has given me an opportunity to explore the many resources college has to offer students. The program has been such a fun highlight within my college experience and that it would help me find a great community of people on campus!”

“One of the biggest ways that Crimson Scholars has impacted my college career was by allowing me to discover a sense of self and find my place at The University of Alabama. Without Crimson Scholars, I don’t think I would have found the confidence to do what I do now.”
