Try to sit within the first 3-4 rows of the room
Always come prepared: pencil, paper, completed homework, etc.
Try to answer questions and join in on class discussions - professors will notice your participation & it could be positively reflected in your grade!
Make a friend! This can be someone to study with, or someone who can fill you in on a lecture you missed
GO TO CLASS - Even if the professor doesn't take attendance, they act positively to familiar faces
Study for a test 1 week in advance instead of cramming the night before - this gives you time to thoroughly review your notes
Find a good place to study like the Ferg, the Capstone Center, or your room
NEVER start an assignment the day before it is due
Try to complete all extra credit opportunities
If you have 3 or more finals on the same day, ask a professor if you can take one another day
Try to get involved in at least 2 organizations on campus your first semester
Don't let Greek life come before your school work - finish your assignments before fraternity/sorority events
Party responsibly & avoid getting a SNAM (Student Non-Academic Misconduct) citation at all costs
Surround yourself with people who are just as focused and driven as you
Attend university events: sports, UP events in the Ferg, fundraisers, etc.
