The Writing Center is a free service available to all members of the UA community. We offer personalized feedback and instruction tailored to the writer’s needs. You can bring any kind of writing, whether it is personal, professional, or academic. Our staff of peer consultants (including undergraduate and graduate students) will ask questions, make suggestions, and help you improve your work in a friendly, collaborative setting. We can help at “every stage of the page”—from brainstorming to understanding the assignment, researching a topic, revising, working with sources, or improving your grammar & style.

Stop by the Center in Lloyd 322, or, during the fall and spring semesters, try our evening service at Gorgas Library. · Distance consultations: Make a distance-learning appointment via our online system. Be sure to choose the online (not Lloyd Hall) schedule. Once you select an appointment, the system will prompt you to choose between the Zoom and asynchronous (email-based) formats.
