Student Request for Food Assistance

The Alabama REACH program collaborates with The University of Alabama’s Student Care and Well-Being office to provide food assistance through a Food Pantry. Additionally, Student Care and Well-Being provides meal allotments up to twice a semester for students in times of need through it’s “Got Meals?” program. To access either program, visit the Student Care and Well-Being’s website and click the “Food Assistance Request” button.

REACH Amazon Wish List

Holidays are often a difficult time financially for many REACH students. With the onset of COVID-19, visiting family is not an option for these students and many do not have a support system on which they can rely. To address this need, the goal of the UA REACH Pantry is to ensure students have adequate access to food and hygiene products.

Please consider supporting them by purchasing items on the REACH Amazon Wish List, which includes items most often picked up by other students when visiting family during the holiday season. Once you place an item in the cart and are ready to check out, select “Alabama REACH’s Gift Registry Address” from the “Other Addresses.” As an Amazon privacy measure, the address will not be displayed, but items will be delivered to the Alabama REACH office in Russell Hall (504 University Boulevard, 342 Russell Hall, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401).

Other Giving Opportunities

You can support the various programs of the Alabama REACH Program in the following ways:

  • Students with active meal plans can donate meals to the “Got Meals?” program by visiting the Bama Dining website.
  • Anyone may make a financial contribution restricted to the Student Life Campus Pantry fund by using the online donation form.

Out of an abundance of caution during the COVID-19 pandemic, Alabama REACH is not accepting any physical goods directly from donors. Please consider using the REACH Amazon Wish List as an alternative.
